In 1999, a stark choice emerged for me in Pakistan, a crossroads defined by tradition for a young, unmarried woman seeking independence: marriage or emigration, as venturing out alone was strongly discouraged. Embracing the uncertainties of a new beginning, I chose the latter and embarked on a journey to the United States. This move marked a significant transition, from my birthplace to the fast-paced realm of software engineering. I went on to become an empathetic leader gaining over a decade of experience in software quality assurance and eventually becoming an Engineering Manager. My professional life is characterized by a commitment to cultivating healthy team environments built on inclusion, equity, and transparent communication. Beyond my professional accomplishments, I am actively involved in fostering community and growth, notably through my dedication to instructing QA boot camps and workshops.
