Julie is a licensed clinical social worker who works with individuals, provides clinical supervision to provisionally licensed social workers seeking full licensure, and supports people experiencing domestic violence as part of an on-call service. Julie received her MSW from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and her 40-year mental health career includes 25+ years of experience as Clinical Director of Crisis Emergency Services for the UNC Department of Psychiatry. Julie has also worked as a therapist in both an outpatient mental health setting and an inpatient program with women recovering from addiction.

Julie works with clients of all ages. She especially enjoys working with people experiencing issues related to loss, trauma, aging, depression, and anxiety.

Julie uses an eclectic approach incorporating elements of psychodynamic psychotherapy, CBT, and supportive and problem-solving therapy.

When not working or spending time with family, including her new grandson, Julie can be found gardening while being carefully watched by her cat.
